Can we please, please puh-lease get over the super-girly/feminine (and what does that even mean) = sexy crap?
Hope Solo is fucking hot. not because she has long hair, or a “breathy” voice, or wears eye make-up. Not because she’s wearing a skimpy costume and slithering all over Maks.
No. Girl is sexy because she is strong and athletic. Because you can see each and every one of her muscles when she dances. Because she’s not some stick-thin barbie-doll look alike who defers to men (or to anyone). She is sexy on the field, diving for balls. She is sexy on the dance floor because she knows her body and what it’s capable of.
Instead of trying to make her fit into some narrow, pre-defined idea of what “sexy” is, how about you, judges, expand your idea of how a woman “should” look, walk, dance etc.
Comments and critique on her form, her technique etc - fine. But if you can’t see her sexiness, that’s your shortcoming, not hers.
And if you’re so concerned about gender-policing as part of what makes a good dance performance, feel free to start telling Carson to butch-up any day now.
